New S&W M&P 22 compact!

Nice gun

Yeah it's nice...too bad about the barrel length.

Question: Can a .22 pistol really be defined as a 'weapon'? No police force or military uses it, except as a trainer. Nobody recommends it as a serious self-defense choice. A .22 pistol is really only good for paper-punching and tin can perforation. Sure, it _can_ be used as a weapon, but so can an icepick or screwdriver, and there are no legal sanctions against those unless they are actually used to harm somebody...

Very cool, love the adjustable rear sight. Interesting that they're made in the USA and not by Walther, wonder if this gun is designed differently then the standard M&P 22?

The original 22's barrel was also too short, so maybe in the future we will see lengthened barrelled versions for us

Our Canadian model's barrels are 1 mm longer, and only slightly noticeable, but the compact would look ridiculous imo to comply with the 4.14" law.

And ya, the sights are sweet, much nicer then the full size 22. I wonder if they will be compatible with the full size and can be switched out.
