OK, this is not a production pistol, but it should be. This build is a VTAC lower, Pro upper, with VTAC sights, and all the Apex Tactical upgrades. I have the trigger set to 5 lbs, and adjusted it for a short crisp break.

I really like the M&P series pistols. Inexpensive, ergonomic, reliable, accurate as I can be, and customizable without the need for an expensive gun smith. I'm also a fan of the pro series pistols, for their longer sight radius. I find that they feel much smaller than other 5" pistols. I'm not sure if anyone has done this yet, but I thought I'd share a pic.

I'm an M&P guy as well and that is really cool! Honestly not the set up I would have done but sending respect your way for taking all the pieces you like and putting them together to build a really unique M&P. Awesome!

nicve, I have the earth tone as well on my .45, FO sights and apex all the way, my triggers a bit heavier at 5.5 tho, nice and crisp however, M&P series is great

Very nice indeed!! I love my M&P, I'm hopping they come out with a OD green one in the near future and maybe one in 10mm auto ;)

Nice weapon, i had a 9mm vtac for less than a month with out a single shot fired, when i field stripped and cleaned it for the first time one of the safety cut out plugs on the frame poped out on the right side and exposed a huge crack in said frame, long story short the shop i bought it from made it right fast but just a heads up.

I just received a Vtac 9mm 1 week ago. Cleaned and checked out okay. Based on the comments it sounds like I need to check the frame for cracks!!
I have noticed the right slide release does not work as smoothly as the left side release. Anyone else experience this?

Um er, well..... since the "frame" of the M&P is stainless steel embedded inside the polymer grip frame, connecting the front locking block to the rear sear block, you might not have seen a crack in the frame. There is a mold seam in the location in the polymer you describe though. Just sayin'. The right side slide stop won't release as smoothly as the left side because the lug that engages the frame is attached to the left side lever, there is some twist in the lever when releasing from the "off" side - I won't go into why this is pretty much irrelevant for most shooters.

PS NEVER shoot an M&P with the safety location plugs missing - they provide rigidity to the polymer grip frame to prevent the seam from splitting.

Inspired by the look of the OP's gun with the FDE and black, I decided to have Select Shooting Sports do my M&P Pro up in OD green. I'm very happy with the results and have to agree with the others in this thread who have suggested these pistols should be produced by S&W like this.
