Hmm...where have I seen that "innovative single spring retaining the mag catch" before.... :rolleyes:
I have a contact in a US PD whose department is putting 20 M&P's through trials right now....16 are being kept in storage, and 4 are getting the crap beat out of them for a month, with no S&W reps present. If anyone can break a gun, these guys can. Their current 'uniform' issue sidearm is the venerable S&W M645 (Glock being their undercover/off duty issue sidearm).

Rumour has it that the Queen's Cowboys MIGHT be trading in the 5946 for the new M&P.

I'll believe it when I see it... perhaps around 2016 or so...

I'm getting good reports about the new M&P. S&W are determined to regain their position as the premier supplier of sidearms to the police in North America. I have my name down for one. :D
Oh...nelly...the Baby Eagle is gawn. I swapped it for a G17. I just couldn't warm back up to the BE once the Valster lost interest in it.:rolleyes::p

I'm not surprised about the BE... I know how you hate a poorly performing piece (Oh - the poetry!). I also know how it feels to have your bling dissed by the Honeys!

Now that you have the both a G17 and the XD9, perhaps we can convince you (er, bribe you) to let my wee lass have one more grope of those two in a final comparitive test? She's all raring to go shopping, but is now unsure between those two. Have your people call mine - working through the weekends for the next few weeks, but perhaps a Friday afternoon in two weeks or so?
