Sweet.

A friend had one and loved it; I always had a fondness for the 25 in 45 Colt, but never had one.

In my opinion, one of S&W's best models.

Beautiful gun. I find that the photos on the S&W classics never do them justice because you cannot possibly see how amazing the bluing is just by looking at a photo. I just bought a mint M27 classic from another member that I am now waiting for. I opted for the .357 magnum only because of ammo issues. I really wanted a .41 magnum but couldn't find any ammo or reloading supplies. Regardless of caliber, a "classic" S&W with the blued finish is essential to any revolver collection. There simply is no substitute.

BTW-for those that are not familiar with these, the discoloration on the hammer and trigger is from "case-hardening". I cannot tell you how many times I've read new owners or non-owners lament the fact that they don't like it and believe it to be a possible defect. Some actually remove it (big mistake!). Look it up and appreciate case-hardening for what it is. Then it will become a thing of beauty to your eye.

Seeing this, I reminded myself yet again to kick myself for not picking a used one up from Armco (?) a couple of years back. :(

Nice.

Made me thing about the minty Model 25-2 I had back in the day. That one was in .45 ACP / .45 Auto Rim.

NAA.

I have an older 25-2 in 45 autorim so with moon clips I shoot 45 ACP. It is fun to shoot and I may use it in IPSC this summer. Just for the fun of it.
