New Sage EBR stock

Yup, I am aware of this. I got the one on my shorty off easy enough with the welds. I can't seem to even move the castle nut on this one though.

Get a soft face hammer and give the flash hider a few hits from the front. That will take some of the load off the castle nut. Hungry and I had to do this to get mine to budge. Support the barrel and don't be afraid to give it a good whack. Worse comes to worse, it breaks around the spot welds and you need to buy a new flash hider.

I have already tried this with a rubber mallet. I think what I really need is an extra set of hands lol. I have someone who is able to help me tomorrow so we should be able to get it off.

When I first saw a picture of the EBR, I thought I’d cut myself handling it. It just does not look like something I’d want to handle without wearing full combat gear. It does not look comfortable to cozy up to.

BUT I gotta say, I handled an EBR down at Camp Perry in the summer time and I could not have been more wrong. That’s one hell of a stock. It handles well, is reasonably light and I did not even come close to cutting myself.

Even though I have a JAE on an LRB, I may just pick up an EBR myself and slap it on a Norc shorty one day just fer huntin.

Was it this version?

The M14ALCS is my favorite SAGE EBR. It's the most flexible chassis, it can be rather compact and it is comfortable to shoot. The PMRI is an excellent chassis, but the PRS butt stock needs a really nice recoil pad because the Magpul pad has hard sharp edges and points that dig into your shoulder.

There was a time that my 2nd favorite SAGE EBR was the lighter M14ALCS/CV... I liked it with a Magpul CTR, a shorter barrel and a red dot optic. Along comes the even lighter Blackfeather RS and it is now my favorite chassis for shorter barrels paired with red dots.

Range report.....took newly assembled Sage EBR/m305s to range on the weekend....lol soon learned that with my big head and Sage stock Iron sights are useless. I had to crush my face against stock just to see front post, at one point realized I was using left wing instead of sight. Opps! Still.....looks great, feels great and a over all VERY happy with rifle. Can't wait to get out shooting again. With some glass or a red dot.

I have the same issue with my EBR so I'm working on lowering the cheek rest a little bit.
