Found a deal from another member that I could not pass up. Picked up the new Finnlight 2 in 300WM. Beautiful rifle but I ran into a problem with scope mounts. This latest 85L Finnlight 2 receiver is longer than other 85L receivers. Even with extended bases, I am only able to mount the Swaro Z3 I wanted if I use high mounts as the ocular and objective bezels contact the bases. Aside from going with high mounts, which look ridiculous, my only other option is a scope with a longer main tube.
Considering the Z5 3-18X42 or the Z5 5-25 if I must go with higher rings. I prefer mounting my scopes as low as possible. Anyone else out there with the new Finnlight in a Long and running a similar optic that may have some suggestions for mounts or an optic with a significantly longer main tube that the Z3 3-10X42?
And please, I can not entertain the thought of Bushnell, Vortex, or Huskemaw junk on top of this rifle.
