!!! New Sako TRG debut only days away !!!

If Sako is awarded this prestigious honor then the chance of this rifle ever being available to the general public is pretty much non-existant.
.

Some highly speculative questions come to mind.

When the original TRG-42 came out, was it not designated as Mil&LEO only ?

Will the "Quick Change" barrel compromise accuracy ?

Should we existing TRG owners bite the bullet and purchase an extra $350 mag now before they go to $550 ??

Lastly, what are the chances they'll #### this baby up and drive the price of pre-2011 models upward ? ( I'm thinking pre '64 70's).

The switch barrel system, if done properly, won't effect accuracy.

The mag price gone up that much, some body will make an after market one.

From the pic, it seems the magazine is bigger. I would not be surprised if the new 338 mag can hold 10 rounds. AI AX and Unique Alpine are going that direction too.

There is no way that you can get that for $7K or $8K.
At lease $10K+ with out muffler.

Keep in mind that the design of the rifle isn't so much Sako copying the numerous other rifles on the market as simply meeting the design criteria set forth in the PSR contract solicitation. :slap:

It's inevitable that they will all look similar.

I am looking at getting a Sako TRG22 in 260rem, not sure if I can get one in to Canada, I know that the guy down south got them.

As more is revealed regarding this platform I find myself liking it more and more.

In my opinion nobody Integrates a Rifle and it's peripheral's to work as a system better than Sako.
According to the Sako literature the bolt acts as the take down tool to facilitate barrel/caliber changes and when installed no headspacing is required prior to use as the barrel/bolt are a matched pair already set for headspace at the factory prior to shipping.

Also you can see 1,2,or 3 rings on the barrels/bolts and mags to indicate which chambering they are; 1=.308 2=.300Win 3=.338Lapua.

Not really - those of us who have them already would hate the depreciation hit :)

Althought I would simpathize with you on the depreciation hit, I feel it my solemn duty to quote the great Dr. Spock of Star Trek..."the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few" :):):)
