New SAM Commander Tactical

Just opened the box... Workmanship looks very good...

Only thing I'm going to do on it is to adjust the leaf spring. Trigger is already crisp so I'm expecting an accurate shooter...

How's the feed ramp on these babies compared to say, a Springfield or Remington 1911? Pics?

Anyone notice it grouping well below point-of-aim like the SAM Military?

Looks like a wicked pistol for the price but I've been skeptical of SAM compared to other 1911s.

Feed ramps on these are really good. I will be putting one through it's paces for a video on here next week.
There is really is no reason to be skeptical about the SAM pistols. I've seen a lot of "brand name" 1911 come through here in the last couple of years whose fit and finish etc wasn't anywhere near as good as the SAM for a lot more money.

I want to buy a couple more 1911 for 2 of my grandkids that will go tru their course and pass their RPAL... Sure wont bother with Rem or Ruger , now that i know what i know... This is really the perfect example of more for less, this dont happen to often nowadays... JP.

First 250 rounds from my SAM Commander Tactical... Awsome shooting pistol, ammo was 230 gr Wolf FMJ ( 150 rounds) / 200 gr Wolf lead SWC (100 rounds)...
Not a single malfunction, the sight were right on, the accuracy was well above expectations for a 500.00 pistol...
This could be the best money i spent since i started restricteds...
My Les Baer Premier ll will always be number one in my herd but that SAM pistol is a keeper...
Thanks for giving me hope in society by providing quality products at a decent low cost, i will recommend your products to all my friends and family... JP.

I'm really interested in the SAM GI Commander 4.75". Can someone post a photo or let me know if the Novak "style" sights have 3 dot system?

Just a reminder that when it comes to 1911 pistols, there is usually some fitting required regardless. I wouldn't say any modification to the slide but there may need to be some fitting of the slot or the sight base to have to properly fit, no different than any other 1911.

I had one of these little babies out for a minute yesterday and I found that for me, they shot right to point of aim at about 20 yards.

My Commander Tactical 4.75 inch was right on POI to 25 yards, did not shoot further... When sights are right on, i dont touch nothing... JP.

I personally like the white dot front and black back sights, but then again been shooting that style for along time so it's something I'm comfortable with, don't like my sight picture too busy.

This pistol is very easy to shoot and the sights ( front white dot only) do a great job, i like it... JP.

I have the Military, but the sights are the same. Here's some pics.

In terms of performance, I had 4" groupings at 20yrds and loved the sights. It doesn't agree well with Norinco .45acp, it jammed 3 times in the span of 25rounds, Remington and Winchester worked just fine. A great buy as my first 1911, I didn't even spend more than $550.

Another 400 rounds from my SAM Commander Tactical 4.75, still waiting for my first malfunction... Accuracy is very good with Wolf 230 gr reloaded ammo... Got a nice day at the range... JP.
