New savage 10FP

I have Remingtons coming in dribs and drabs every week, I can not keep up with demand, and am sure most dealers are in the same boat here. If a guy wants 1 it could well take a few weeks to get. Hopefully by June ALL the makers will have their poop in a pile

Regular old Leupold VX111 target turreted 3.5x10 x40. Great scope, but I think the pricing from Savage is higher than what it can be purchsaed seperately for.

I agree w/ Rick, saw it @ P&D Enterprises a few days ago...Looks nice but I would go for one with a better stock (Cheap Savage stock stock:redface: ), but you know for that price ($1499.99) I would take it anyways...

Savage Stock

The stoock on the Savage 10Fp may be cheaper than whats on the Rem700P, however it doesn't compromise the accuracy. It still shoots as good as the 700P. (100 Yards)In my opinion there is no need to upgrade the stock unless looks are of the utmost importance.

It won't compromise its accuracy compared to the 700P's better stock, I would say they are equal but if you add a bedded HS Prec or McMillan stock on, it would definitely make it better @ any distances.

If any of you guys seriously think the stock Savage stock is equal to the HS stock you either don't own one, or both of them to make a direct comparison.

The HS stock is far more rigid and consistent over a variety of environmental and field conditions. Sure, the Savage stock may be adequate for some purposes but having a more rigid stock with proper bedding/mating surface can eliminate one of the many variables involved in maintaing accuracy.

1x. same here, if they would come standard with let say an HS(Identical to the Remy 700P for instance), it would the ultimate entry LE on the market.
Even Rick at ATR would agree with me on this one :)

Your wishes have come true... http://www.savagearms.com/10fphsprecision.htm http://www.savagearms.com/12PrecVarm.htm

However, if these Savages turn out to be the same price as a 700P I don't know if there'll be as many followers. I like both brands (and own both) but I'd be hard pressed to spend the same money on a Savage as I would an equivalent Remington. Except, for possibly the 10FP with McMillan stock which I want badly. lol. Though the HS stock on the FP is different than the one currently available on the 700P.

Definitely, a toss up if budget is a consideration.
