New Savage 338 Lapua!!!

the MSRP of the regular FCP-HS is $1158, and the 111 hunter series are about $600.

That's some inexpensive 338LM shootin

OMG!! Savage just keeps getting better and better all the time.
With those kind of pricing, how can I say no to another Savage. And a real muzzle brake too, not the little dinky Rem puts on theirs.

I know of one thats headed back to the savage factory for warranty work. Only two Hornady factory rounds fired and both had to be removed using a cleaning rod.
Extractor pulled over the rims both times. The brass was stuck in the chamber and took a couple of good taps with the rod to get them to pop out.
No marks on the body of the brass or any indication of a rough chamber.
Yes, the chamber and bore were cleaned prior to the trip to the range.
One very PO'd owner who most likely won't buy another savage.

So far this year:
Marlin - arrived NIB bolt frozen open, bolt release not release, charging handle not move it forward. Disassembled, reassembled, now works.
H&R - hammer block breaks, replaced, breaks again, shotgun replaced, now works.
Friend's NIB T/C Icon not feed from mag properly, stock replaced, now works.

Would not base reputation of company on a single experience (relayed over the internet). Have more than one Marlin, have more than one Savage, function just fine.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying all savage arms are bad!
A few bad ones get through no matter the manufacturers name.

I'm sure Cabelas or Savage will take care of the issue for their customer.

They all have hiccups, a couple weeks ago a new proed owner of a remington vtr was at the range, closed the bolt and dry fired a couple times, loaded factory ammo and the bolt would not close. Turns out there was to little headspace, called WSS and was told that he had to go through remingtons warranty center, a fail on both in my books.

Hek new cars all have the same hickups, sometimes its just luck of the draw.
