hmmm, I wonder what the barrel twist is... Weight might be an issue to if trying to meet F/F restriction.

I am new to the ORA/DCRA and long distance shooting, but am looking for a good choice for F (F) Class. Was not aware of the weight restriction, and from searches I gather it is a 7kg restriction all equipment in, is this correct? Is there a link that summarizes all the restrictions?

that model is listed as a F/TR class rifle, so it is only available in .308. They have another one listed as F Class/Precision;

Laminated flat bottomed stock with extra-wide ventilated forend
Target AccuTrigger adjustable from 6 oz. to 2 ½ lbs
Right bolt, right port short action receiver
Smaller ejection port for extra rigidity
30" Extra-heavy stainless barrel
Chambered in 6.5 X 284 NORMA
MSRP $1211

Stock is a bit funky to me though.

Here is the link, these are near the bottom

There are many threads here about this/these including info on the final version of the stock that will be sold with the rifles.

F/O weight limit is 10kg (about 22-lb) including all attachments.
F/F weight limit is 7.25 kg, or 8.25 kg if a bipod or front rest is attached to the rifle.

I don't think the Savage F/TR rifle with the usual attachments will exceed the weight limit.

Got one on order from WSS for 1200$..The 6.5x284 Norma model of course :)

airborne... did they give you any ETA at all... like some time this season? I'm thinking there's going to be or there should be a lot of orders for the rifle... especially for anyone who doesn't want to involve themselves in the numbers game or piecing something together and then running around to find a smith to put it all together...

I think this is a great rifle to start out with and I don't believe it's an entry point thing... I think these will shoot darn close to top end f-open rigs...

choose the twist, length and caliber with some thought and you're good to go!
