Be easy just to rebarrel with a light sporter too. I like the idea of a wood stock over the cheap tupperware. If they would have done it in a lam stock, would look a little nicer.

I agree that lightweight /260 combo is killer (no pun intended, well maybe a little) What could be better an affordable light weight gun 5.5lb 20" barrel in 260, that is golden for sure. I did find one outlet today that will order for me for spring delivery.
I cant help but think this is something some vendors will or should stock.

As 1899 mentioned, if the bear guns were chambered in .358 win (short action) and 9.3x62 (long action) they'd be a lot more legitimate of a bear gun.
I do like the Long Range Hunter in 6.5x284, but then I've been kind of aching for something in 6.5 that has a little more sting to it than my 6.5x55's.
