You may remember my troubles trying to get the screws out of my casm mount, even after taking a blowtorch to it
. Well, I gave up and decided to just get a scope! I found this Redfield Revolution with 3-9x50mm and accu-range reticle at Prophet River for a downright steal at $215

I'm already loving the scope; it really brings in a lot of light! The accu-range is a nice bonus, as you can sight it in at 200 yards and use the markings for 100-500m.
I picked up some el cheapo Millet Angle-Loc low rings from Bass Pro and slapped it together. I used a dowel to try and get the rings aligned straight, and wrapped some sand paper around the dowel to sand out any rough edges. I found the rings to be a little sketchy, and I stripped one of the mounting screws aligning the rings, so hopefully I did a good job of getting it straight!
Obviously with the casm mount the scope's pretty high, even with low rings. Seeing as I'm not keen on drilling holes in my walnut stock I'm going to order a cheek rest from coyotem1a, but to figure out the needed height, I bubba'd together a couple rags and masking tape to get a nice 1.5" rise
I might take it to the range this weekend like that...
