And they aren't using any logical way of doing their job, they just looked at it and decided? Wtf! I thought they had grown up a bit.

The RCMP are not "friends" of the firearms community nor are they one of us. Individual RCMP members may personnally enjoy their firearm "priviledges", however, as an organization the RCMP's mandate is to enforce the law of the land and provide expert (?) opinion on matters under their purview - including firearms.

In theory, they are neither friend or foe, though I think you'd be hard pressed to find many in the firearms community to come to their defence as you have demonstrated here in this thread.

Many of the RCMP members are gunnutz and many of us have been on this site since the first days, remember the regular general duty members that most of you see each day have nothing to do with classifying guns, they just enjoy them and shoot them like you!!
 
Not to mention the extraordinary efforts by members such as Randy Kunz ( I know it sounds like a ####o name, however...) ;0)
Without these brave friends taking huge chances with thier own careers, and potential alienation of their co-workers, ( people they litteraly depend on for thier lives ) and friends we would certainly lack that intimate insight, and credibility they most certainly lend to thier own peril.

For that, I am thankful. Shows just what kind of people the job will attract.
 
We appreciate the good people who work for us in the RCMP who are avid gunnutz as well. Our kind filters into all walks of life. From Shoe Salesman to Doctors. I think if we didn't have some representation we wouldn't have any of the cool guns like the XCR, SCAR and ACR. Thanks to them who balance the fight.

May I suggest a letter to them as they originally said they would consider a reasonable debate. I know debating with those who have something to gain by sticking to their decision is usually a waste of time. However this is a government organization so any communication would have to be kept on file. If you run into someone who looks ahead they may see that it wouldn't look good later on and may wish the chance to save their pride. This is paramount in the letter. Give them a graceful way out to save face and have the firearm reclassified.

You had a post from a lawyer who specializes in firearms. May I also suggest a fund to fight this. Then have said lawyer review the argument, modify it and add some legal opinion regarding this. Send in your debate on that law firms letter head.

Now you have a shot at having the evaluation changed. Right now the it looks like an AR precedent isn't going too well for us. That and there's no reason the AR should be restricted this day and age. But that's another battle.

Oh and yes even restricted I would like one of these shotguns. Non restricted even better.
 
You might assume they make thier decisions based on only pictures, however you must send in an actual sample to them.
