Hello, everyone!

I'm just getting into shooting, got a couple of 22's and an SKS that I just couldn't let pass me by.

I've been looking into ranges and Crown Land in and around Winnipeg, and it's a bit dismaying to see how little info is out there. I'm looking at the Selkirk Game and Fish Association's range, but I'd love to know if there's anything decent a bit further south.

Anyone got any suggestions?
 
Welcome! We are actually planning a cleanup of some crown land on Tuesday east of Winnipeg. There are places out there, it's just a matter of finding them.

As for ranges, are you looking for rifle, pistol, or both?

Rifle, primarily. Pistol may well come along eventually, but not for a while yet.
 
South of the city is Steinbach game and fish.

I've been told by the CFO office to mention to folks to keep out of the various gravel pits.

Crown land shooting can be fun, Bedore is sold it, i liked shooting with the 338 out along the fire cuts in piney area, I can't get out to 1500 meters out there.

Having been a back 40 shooter myself I find it's just nicer to shoot at a range...
