Hello everyone,

I'm relatively new to Shooting and hand loading. I'm having some trouble finding a good, consistant online source for .223 Remington brass. Every major online canadian retailer that seems to carry new brass is sold out of any 223.

Is there a good place to get new 223 online? I'd love to hear where you guys use. I'm having trouble, even with the sponsors above. Seems no one's got any!

I'm also interested in once fired, but again, hard to find online here in canada. I'd love suggestions on where to get it!

Thanks to everyone in advance.

I believe rouge river arms has a bunch of what I assume is once fired. Give them a call and they know. They are at the 404 and Wellington. Very nice people and will help you get what you need.

Thank you very much, i'll check in with them.

Also, it seems Marstar's got some in now, how's that for timing.

I get 1000 round ammo cans of American Eagle 223 from Canadian Tire for around 400 bucks. That's 40 cents per round. If I go buy all the components and hand load it's very hard to stay under 40 cents.

The moral of the story is that I do handload, even for my AR15, but I don't bother buying brass as it's more expensive. Yes, you can easily handload better ammo than AE, but even if it's not the best, there's something to be said for trigger time, regardless of how good your ammo is. Once you get through those 1000 rounds and are need to start reloading, you'll be a better shooter, and more comfortable with your rifle.

Also, handloading brand new brass isn't going to maximize your results, you want to fireform your brass anyway if you're reloading for a bolt gun. YMMV.

i would just buy once fired brass, much cheaper.

a simple target load with free brass runs about 26 cents to reload by my calculations.

This is a Sorry for every one that enquired about the brass. I've been in the Hospital for a week and just home now. I will endever to pop out to the Shop and dig out the brass tomorrow and answer a few of the Questions.

well what kind of brass are you lookin to shoot? Here in Edmonton winchester brass are flowin like honey left and right, but federal brass can be tough to find so i keep an eye out all year long for whereever i can get it.

check the EE for used brass. I dont think I've purchased .223 brass ever. there is so much of it laying around on the range.

There's a whack load of 223 brass all the time at the range and the majority seems to be Federal. May have to start collecting some as I do plan on one day getting a 223 and since I already reload, loading for the caliber wouldn't cost more than the price of dies,a length gauge and of course components.
