Hello there, just looking for some information...... would I be able to get a new barrel with screw in chokes for my semi 12 gauge S&W or semi 12 gauge Franchie? They are both about 25 years old and both have modified chokes.... I cannot install or get installed chokes on these barrels... any help advice would be useful.... or should I sell them and just bye one new one.... anyone know how much these gun would be worth?

I have no idea if you can get new barrels with removable chokes for those gun. I'd say for the price of a new barrel, you might as well buy a new shotgun with removable chokes. Doesn't mean you have to sell the one you have now though. How much are you willing to spend?

I can't chokes installed because the gunsmith says the barrel wall is to thin for machining...something like that anyway, so its new barrels or new gun...

I would measure the thickness of the barrel metal and contact a tube specialist like briley. Maybe the barrell wall is too thin for the type of tubes that your smith is accustomed to installing?

You could try Steve Milton at Precision Arms in King, Ontario. He does choke tube installations on various high end guns with very thin barrels.

Thanks for the tip/website Claybuster.....the information on their website sounds exactly right-on.... I have just emailed them the information and am waiting for their response......If it can be done they certainly sound like they are the ones that can do it..... thanks

Just one more reason to buy another gun!!! :) Around here, i'm always looking for "reasons" for new guns. One is just never enough.

Well I got ahold of Precision Arms and they can install the screw in chokes but for the money I would rather sell the guns and buy one new gun (maybe a rem 870 with screw in chokes)that would be my all purpose shotgun....

Does anyone know how much my shotguns are worth? I have one 12 gauge semi auto Franchie and one 12 guage semi auto Smith and Wesson about 20yrs old with fixed modified choke...28" barrels and in good shape...any help would be great....thanks
