new shotgun barrel

If taken care of not just the barrel but the whole shotgun should out live you! They're meant to be handed down through the generations. That's how our great grandchildren will get them when they are no longer sold in stores etc.

Yes, listen to boltonscouter, unless you are launching diamond sandpaper buckshot out the barrel and then cleaning it sal####er ,a barbecue scrub brush, and a hammer, it will last longer than you.
 
I know a guy I met in 1977 stationed in Germany, recently ran into him in BC. He is a big time skeet shooter, he just sold his Browning superposed O/U for a good price. He bought it in 1956 and it has hundreds of thousands of rounds through it. I know he has shot over 350 straight.
