New Shotgun!!!

Second, its having trouble cycling el cheapo target loads. The specs on those are:

Winchester Super-Target
12 Gauge
2-3/4 "
1200FPS
3 Dram
1-1/8 oz.
#7.5 Lead Shot

Not to bash(the M4 is nice) but yet another example why pump guns trump semi's.

On a side note, how many positions do you get with the stock?

Three positions, just like in the pictures.

Any idea what the LOP is at each position?? I won't derail the thread but semi's do not trump pump guns on the whole. They have more downsides than upsides.

Dummy Round is called a snap cap

Thanks sullijr, but REM3200 beat you to it by just a hair ;)

I do not know what the LOP is at each position, but I sure could measure it out if you explained to me how you want it done.

Congrats on the Super 90. You shouldn't be having problems with any loads. The M4 was designed to shoot almost every type of ammo available including less than lethal without ever having cycling problems or having to adjust anything. Not to offend anyone on here, but perhaps an email to Benelli might be a good idea to get more informed info from the manufacturer. Enjoy the shotgun...I love mine.

Thanks si###, I'm going to hammer out some (~100) heavy loads in her as soon as the weather warms up a bit. If that doesn't cut it, I will fire them an e-mail. If you hold yours in a vertical orientation and shake it up and down, does it make a rattle, possible from the gas pistons?

How much did that beast cost, it's a beaut....

Thanks Babygungun, it DEFINATELY cost enough. I bought it from the site sponsor Wolverine, so check them out for a price. I see it as an investment, plus its got a 5 year warranty. Any company that wants to stand behind their products with a long warranty, is worth a lot to me.

That is one sweet gun any way you look at it. I could care less if it could cycle clay loads. Badass all the way. give us an update as you get more experience. Patterns, cycling, general impressions over time.

Just run a tape measure from the trigger to the butt pad at each position. Most shotguns come with 13" LOP which is far too long for most users. I'm curious what the three lengths of the M4 are.

Since when do most Shotguns "come with a 13 LOP"? I couldn't shoot a gun with a 13" LOP. Most are 14" - 14 3/4" Some Doubles being shorter.

Will definately do. Patterning is something else I find interesting. What would be the cheapest place to get paper? I recall reading somewhere that someone used butcher paper...?

+1

If I could afford one, I'd be happy even if it was the only shotgun that I owned. Maybe in a couple of years...

I'm sorta hoping it will be the do it all shotgun :)

The Winchester 2200 I got many moons ago runs a 13"(ok 12.75) my Maverick started with 13" as did the Remington 870 and 590's two buddies have. Obviously the style of shooting plays into it as does attire.

I'm a bit surprised no one has mentioned this, always start off with the simplest things.
Are you sure there isn't any factory grease jamming up the rails?
Never hurts to tear it apart and get everything cleaned out. Plus you get to know your gun a bit better that way too.

Hmmm... I don't recall seeing any grease on this gun whatsoever.

Manual says to assemble, and then ready to shoot.

I suppose it doesn't hurt though, especially with nothing better to do when its so cold out.

Thanks dannymat.
