Hey,

I picked up a H&R Pardner 12 Ga 26" barrel Full Choke. Made in 1997!

Great! IMO NEF/H&R made the best inexpensive singleshot shotgun, the case harden is so beautiful. I used to bird hunt with a parnder 20 gauge, sold it to fund a Baikal singleshot sport model but regret since. Congrats on your great buy.

What kind of hardwood is the stock? I hear that the receivers are Iron? How do they case harden finish it? Can I shoot steel too?

Anybody know if the Gardner, MA manufactured Pardners are better quality than the new ones made in Ilion, NY?

The single shot H&R shotguns are nice single shots.My favourite single shot shotgun though is the Cooey Model 84.
