New shotguns, MAG-FED and SHORTIES - NEW PICS

The FRT # will tell all if it is non-restricted or restricted.......do you have FRT #'s for these guns ?

They will be new FRT #'s ...is that correct....would you not have had to submit details of the guns to the RCMP tech's in order to get them imported ?

I'm not sure how you can import these into Canada when you cannot even supply us with a photograph.

They have been imported before by other companies.

It is still non-restricted. It is just an EUC issue.

Wrong!
The Remington 870MCS (which has 10" barrel btw) is not sold to civilian in Canada, due to US State Dept regulation.
Never seen one for sale! i would sure buy one if i could ;)

What are the few others?

I have read Unopistoleros post and it's confusing at most, you're convinced? good for you, i'm not!

If the gun starts with a full stock and is reduced by adding a pistol grip you are always non-restricted.

Yes, but only if the OAL is over 26"

Where does it says that by doing so and the gun is under 26" OAL it is still non restricted?

If you have an official writing from the RCMP with that wording, OK then!

I don't mean to stir the pot.....

It seems that all these shorties are shown to the RCMP with a full stock first and are then given a status of "non-restricted"....which I understand. Does The RCMP know that the full stock is just to get the guns passed as "non-restricted" and that the end user will remove this stock and put on the pistol grip.....I just don't understand?????

That's easy:

Restricted firearms include:
  • handguns that are not prohibited;
  • semi-automatic, centre-fire rifles and shotguns with a barrel shorter than 470 mm (about 18.5 inches);
  • rifles and shotguns that can be fired when their overall length has been reduced by folding, telescoping or other means to less than 660 mm (about 26 inches); and
  • firearms restricted by Criminal Code Regulations.
It's the folding to under 660 that makes it restricted, not simply being under 660.

Our own RCMP letter is coming. Should end the discourse

The way i read the code and your interpretation are 2 different thing.

Well i sure hope so because the way you explain it it is still confusing to me, i'm i alone?

Nope, the RCMP have ruled it is not "other means"

Does that mean that i can replace the wood stock on my 12.5" barreled 870 and install a pistol grip permanently? even if the OAL is under 26"

I want to have that on writing, because the way i read the law it's not what it means.

I still don't understand why the Franchi PA-3 is restricted and these ar not! Doesn't makes sense at all!

The PA3 folds, so is restricted. Yes, you can replace the stock with a grip on your 870. Something in writing is coming.

Sorry, not going to read this entire thread, but I did browse.
I am just wondering about the Dlask8.5" compared to the Canam ones. The Dlask is retailing at $848, and from what I can gather the Canam is about half the price.
I would rather have a mag fed 8.5 or even 12" than a three shot gun for double the price. What am I missing here? Magnum?
Is Dlask's mag capable?

I'm sure it's obvious, but I can't fathom paying double.
