New shotguns, MAG-FED and SHORTIES - NEW PICS

Chris:

I heard me that short barrel shotgun is not allowed in US? And that's the reason nobody sells a short barrel Rem?
Yes, short barrel shotguns are classed AOW and required registration and a $200 tax stamp in the US. It is possible, but not that common. Serbu and several other make super shorties.

im droolin over these shotties. Cant decide if i want an 8.5 or 12.5. Im thinkin the 12 so I can hunt in BC with it.. but the 8 is a whopping 4" shorter! thats a big diffrence. And if this is going to be my SUPERMEGAAWESOMETACTICOOLNINJAZOMBIESRIDINGDINOSAURS gun.. i want it small. So hard to choose.

They are different animals. You can put a 30" barrel onto the 12.5 (I believe so). But 8.5 is so ###y!

8.5'' is too short to make sense.
Only 3 rounds in mag tube (why not get a coach gun then ?)
Plus I'm not 100% that all the powder has time to burn in such a short barrel.

8.5 with a pistol grip is the only way to carry a portable firearm under Canadian law - that's why it makes sense.

Plus, only Canadians can legally own 12.5 and 8.5, you can't find them anywhere else in the civilized world.

That at least has been addressed since the dlask came out. Some members have chronied their 8.5's against longer barrels.

There is a loss of speed - as you'd expect. It takes about 12 - 14 inches of barrel to reach max velocity (depending on the load.)

However - it is VERY minor, and is not of any significant concern when looking at the gun's intended purpose. You can't legally hunt with it here in bc (there's a 12 inch barrel restriction for all hunting arms) but as a holsered bear defense tool while you're hunting it's awesome. Lots of people put down their rifles to clean game etc, and bow hunters might well appreciate it too. Hikers who don't want to shoulder a gun could find it the perfect answer - especially as the gun can fire flares and bangers as well, and could fetch a grouse or squirrel in a survival situation.
