New SIG Arrivals...

Any info on the fullsize P250 making it here? I'd like to get one in .45ACP if I could ever find one...

SIG has been much slower than expected rolling out the SIG 250 line. Over a year ago when they announced the 250 concept they indicated that they expected the entire model line and accessories would be available by latter part of 2009. Well we're starting November and so far all they have released are the Compact 250's. Still no full-size 250's being shipped (though I've heard the 45 cal full size is available we haven't actually seen it listed as "in-stock" at SIG yet). We have orders for 9mm Full size that have been on order since December 2008 and so far nothing.

I'm hoping that 2010 will see the arrival of the Full Size 250's and a wide range of the 250 accessories (barrel, grips, etc.) so the model can finally be available as the easily converted multi-caliber gun that SIG envisioined.

Like you... all we can do is wait for that to happen :)

Sig certainly mucked up the roll out of the 250, even on the Sig forum the sig lovers are less then impressed with over hype and under service Sig gave in this regard. I love Sig products, but their marketing and customer interactions are much less appealing.

P&D Enterprises lists the SIG 250 .45ACP for $950 on their website. I am curious about what it looks like, but I try to follow the policy of not e-mailing them to request a picture unless I am actually serious about buying it in the short term.

That is the only one I have seen listed on anything to do with the CGN board though, other than the compact digital camo ones with the threaded barrel that Questar brought in.

My own concern about the 250s is the trigger. I haven't had the opportunity to try one yet, but the trigger sounds like an "aquired taste" from what I have heard.

I got to try out the trigger on a compact model and found it to be really smooth. It is as you say DAO but that was not a problem for me.
Any chance that some more of the compacts might be arriving? I wasn't that keen on the "cammo" package but I guess I could live with it.

Has there ever been interest in bringing the 220 Carry in?

Not really... they are too short to import as is, so that means having to install a custom 106mm barrel. SIG doesn't offer a 106mm barrel for them so we have to get aftermarket... that increases the price on the gun by @ $269.00 over and above the regular pricing and export costs.

When most people hear that they simply aren't interested.

Could a regular factory 220 barrel (4.4") just be swapped into a smaller model like the carry or compact?

Are they just smaller in height and length than the original full size 220? Or completely different construction?

I see. well thanks for the explanation, appreciated.

Hopefully that will change in time. P229's used to be quite scarce too, so maybe the market will change for the P220 variants as well.

Will you be getting any E2 Sigs?

We've already had a couple of small shipments... I believe the 226 40S&W E2 is sold out... not sure on status of the 9mm but you can check the website.

If we've sold out then you can still place an order for one from the next shipment.

Any chance of a 229 E2? (with a stock 106 barrel if possible..)

Not sure what you mean by "with a stock 106 barrel"...

The P229 E2 model is coming... we did order some when they announced them and we're hoping to see those initial units in the next few months. The factory ships those guns with standard barrels which are too short to import into Canada, but we install 106mm barrels and sell them here as "Restricted" handguns.

Unfortunately this special barrel drives up the cost of the gun, but it does allow us to make them available in Canada.

I would hope to see the first units arriving here in the next couple of months... once we know more we'll put them on our website and make them available for pre-orders.

Well I noticed some of your pistols, like this one:

https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopexd.asp?id=960&bc=no

says Includes '106mm Canadian' Factory Barrel.

Does this mean the barrel is a SIG provided factory barrel? My interest is as it pertains to meeting IPSC Production Div guidelines.

We have "factory" 106mm barrels that SIG makes and sells to us as a separate item (additional cost). At one time SIG did offer the basic 229 with a 106mm barrel included at no additional cost but that was a while ago and they haven't offered any to us in a while. If we want the SIG factory 106mm barrel then we have to order that as an additional cost "option" so to speak.

They have rarely sold the gun with the 106mm barrel included... if we want 106mm barrels we have to buy them separately.

We have a variety of 106mm barrel options that customers can select when buying their 229's...

  • SIG factory threaded barrels are over 106mm
  • SIG factory 106mm barrels are obviously legal here
  • EFK extended (106mm) barrels
  • EFK threaded barrels are over 106mm
  • EFK ported barrels are over 106mm

With respect to IPSC Production it is my understanding (you should verify with IPSC) that the gun with the SIG 106mm barrel or the SIG threaded barrel is "legal" since it is a factory production gun and factory production barrel... the barrel is simply an extra cost item offered by SIG for Canadian imports.

The government is passing laws that a person can get around e.g.(222mm -106mm barrel length) and they are making a sh--t load of money in taxes.
