New sig mk 25 no anchor

cool story and nice gun, I do understand it might be worth more to a collector if the mishap was documented, but if you plan on shooting the thing I don't think that's ever gonna make a difference. And I do like my anchor, which I have to say isn't "gold" at all btw... but honestly it is the other features that sold me to the MK25, picatiny, phosphate and tritium.
my certificate isn't serialized any further than UU_________, I was under the impression none where tho.

Same bought gun for features don't care about anchor. Not in it for the dough probably won't ever sell it just sharing the story. Besides don't need any more anchors after 14+ years and counting in the navy. My cert was the same too uu_________

In a way it makes your MK25 more special than mine, the only story with mine is that it's a -10 and came with made in USA 10rds mags... Not as cool a story. ;)
 
I purchased a supposed mk25 this January from a fellow cgn'r, he told me it says owned by somebody who was some secret service person. Either way the slide has the anchor, but the serial doesn't start with "uu" and it doesn't have a combat rail. I am still happy with the pistol because I wanted a 226, but it sucks that I don't think it is an actual mk25.

Personally if you wanted a mk25 then I would keep the pistol, if you wanted an anchor on the slide then I would have the dealer order you another and exchange it.
 
Ekoso, There used to be a SIG 226 Navy with anchor that was sold for a time about 10 years ago where a portion of proceeds went to NSW vets charities. Yours may be one of those pistols.

as much as i would love to believe it is the SIG226 navy, i just dont think so, the serial# is u683***. I havent had much time to wait on hold with Sig to search the serial# and some internet searching hasnt been exactly helpful either. Here is a picture

 
My MK25 has a blank cert of auth, I guess I can write my own serial number in lmao.
Sig has so many variations because they seem to through whatever they have extra in the parts bin on guns .

It looks like the 226 Navy has an NSW prefix on the serial number: From Wiki

The first Naval Special Warfare mil-spec P226 pistols to be offered to the public were the NSW Commemoratives, issued in early 2004. The SIG P226-9-NAVY is a version of the SIG P226 that is produced to the exact specifications of the pistols supplied to Navy SEALs, including special phosphate corrosion-resistant finish on internal parts, contrast sights, and a stainless steel slide engraved with an anchor to designate them as Naval Special Warfare pistols. SIGARMS raised $100,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation through the sale of these NSW serialized pistols. The pistol bearing serial number NSW0001 was sold during a live auction on the nationally syndicated Laura Ingraham radio show for an additional $25,000. Later produced commercial versions also included a universal rail for accessory attachments while retaining the anchor and phosphated internal components but no night sights.

The P226 Navy was a special run made by Sig 10 yrs ago to raise some funds for the Foundation. The commercial Mk25's made today all have the plain UU prefix...
 
The UU designation just means frame made in USA. U designation means frame made in Germany. The actual limited edition Navy gun had an SN # that started with NSW I think.
I believe older Navy guns had Sig rails too. My MK25 has a flat 1913 rail, which you can see compared to my P226 ST how it looks different.

This thread had influenced me to buy a MK25 right now... are all of you happy with them and if i can buy a new one at a retailer for $1030 should i hop on it?
 
Anchor or not took her out to the range with my new m&p15 and it shot great had a ball and can't wait to go out again...I am extremely happy with it and recommend it.
