disappointed to see it priced $60 cheaper then the 10-50x60 with target dot, at that price might as well get the variable, at $1200 I'd call it a excellent scope, at $1600 it's to close to the SIII 10-50 to be entertained

Hey Dave, I can understand your argument. However keep these things in mind.
First of all it is different glass so that brings up the price to a different level more comparing it to SV scopes which are also with ED glass.
SV Scopes are 3K+ in price so compared to those it more in like with pricing.
The other thing is that Sightron - SII 36x42 BRD is very decent scope and priced at 700-sh. The SII one of most popular Sightron scopes and is very good scope for the money. They wanted to have something similar in function but for long range so with high end glass. An SIII would just confuse people and would not really differentiate that much from the SII sibling.
That being said Sightron is in business of making scopes that people want and if there is enough interest in as SIII offering of this type of scope, I am sure we could convince them.
That is of course after they are done releasing all the zero stop versions that they promised.
