Pie Plates are a hell of a lot smaller than a paper facsimile of a full size chest/torso.

So, if you are landing multiple 7.62x39 rounds within that imaginary circle, thats pretty damn good cuz that "paper dude" isn't going to stand up...PERIOD!

In that respect, My-Noot of Py-Plate is just fine! Stop watching too much Nutnfancy!
;)

This.

People worry about MOA too much. That's a range trick when you're shooting from a bench with all the gear, at known distances. In terms of practical accuracy, an SKS will do "Minute of problem in need of solving" out to 200 yards, when doing practical shooting, which is about what you can get out of the fanciest $2K AR. Both platforms start having problems past that distance (when practical shooting) due to the limitations of intermediate cartridges in general.

And an SKS can do better than "Mintue of Pie Plate" - which equates to an 8" group. The target on the right is what I can get out of mine on a bad day - very much smaller than that. About a 4" group, in fact. Using the cheapest commercial ammo out there, which is generally less accurate than surplus ammo.

Also... Following this thread, and wondering when the fine folks at HiCal are going to offer a package deal with an SKS in full tactical plastic with the magwell adapter pre-installed and a couple of 10 round "pistol" mags.

I'm hoping that day coincides with the rough time period my annual argument with Revenue Canada draws to its inevitable conclusion (give me my friggin my, g-man).

"pie plate" is a figure of speech for the rifle doesn't group tight enough for how I like to shoot, if you're happy with your SKS that's all that matters. No need to try and dissect the statement to prove/disprove anything.

If SKS's shot better than MOPP (minute of pie plate) I'd be all over one of these, good on Hical for producing it.

Got a good chuckle outta that one. For me the sks is accurate enough for built up urban warfare or close up 100m max zombie shots. Considering.

But why dont I just mod the orig mag to hold its orig design capacity of 10 rds?

because you probably dont want to win a trip to the club fed , no headache , free food , a roof on your head and heating power all for free ....

I like that the magazine will now be detachable, that in itself is a bonus. So I have my order coming, and was just wondering if you fellows throw a sheet of paper in telling how it is supposed to be fitted? I remember something about a video, is that out yet?

Is there a difference between your adapter and the one which will be sold by company called Fringe Firearms. They look remarkably like yours. Is this going to be a patent battle? They will be selling in a month so they say. What info do you have about this?

Well, if you look at the Texas-whatitz webpage, he updated his page just recently and is now stating that he is NO LONGER shipping to Canadians but is working on a LICENSING DEAL with a Canadian Supplier!

So that either means HiCal or some other outfit that Marcus is now upping the anti with... (Just in case Dave is not aware of this)... So you all can fill in the blanks!

FYI... There are major differences (for the BETTER!) between HiCal's and the Texas one.

And PS... Who the F. is "Fringe Firearms"!?
I know what their slogan is though.... " BOOOOO-YAHHHH!"

And PPS?... Hical should probably pay close attention any pre-order that shipped to "London, Ontario" addresses. ;)

Hi HiCal,
I bought the archangel kit from you last year to pair it with a chinese sks. Can you please detail what do i need to do to install this adapter to an archangel stock?

Do i need to send something in to you as well?

Thank you,

Oh goody. So we can likely get reamed by a new Canadian distributor for about double of what they sell for in the US, as usual.

BTW, Considering the US export rules and ITAR, was that Texas company ever shipping them to individual Canadians anyway? That would be refreshing if they were. Not many US sites want to go through the export license rigamrole.

This is a crazy question!... As I had been looking at his site for a long, long time!! Trying to decide whether to buy or not. It appears he DID!!

But under ITAR, Im almost certain? that you CANNOT ship things of that nature and valued over $100 WITHOUT EXPORT PERMITS!! If he had done so, that could very well be a SERIOUS FEDERAL OFFENSE under US law (ie Major Prison Time stuff!!)

There is definitely something at play in this situation.
