New SL8 conversion stock

OK, I found the guy on HKpro that is taking orders for $549 plus shipping, "when he gets them in".

I've sent an email to the company in Germany. Awaiting a reply.

I sent a PM to the dealer on HK pro. He is looking into exporting these to Canada.

This is the response e-mail I got from the German Company:

###X,

Thanks for the interest. Currently we have a U.S.A. importer, www.lanworldinc.com. I am working at this time to get an importer in Canada as well. Stay tuned to our web site for further information.

Thanks again

Hello,

I see you have a conversion kit (BCK) for the HK SL8. I was wondering if there are any dealers in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that I could get one of these kits from?

Thanks,
###X

It's cool, but it looks like the SL8 will approach the price of a Tavor or SIG. Therefore, unless it is better priced...NO.

What makes you back away even if the SL-8 ends up in the same price range?? Any reason it's not worth as much as Tavor or SIG??

I know nothing of the SL-8 but I like what I see.

I didn't think you were #####ing, just curious as to your reasons for making the SL-8 sound like a lower quality gun. If I am going to drop 2k on a gun I too hope it's worth it price.

This conversion trigger housing is aluminum, so this upgrade might just kill 2 birds with 1 stone, solves the cracking receiver and the AR attachement capability.

There never was a 'cracked receiver issue' with the SL8. The trigger housing on older models cracked from dry firing it when not in the receiver. However that is no longer an issue and has been rectified by HK.

As mentioned the conversion also adds in an aluminium trigger housing as well.

As far as the other mentioned rifles.... I haven't heard of any 'range reports' from multiple users/owners of the Tavor.

And different strokes for different folks. The AK, sorry Sig, just doesn't choke my chicken.

I've got a few rounds down range with my SL8, and with the attachments/accessories, I'm having a whole lot 'o fun with it. I am not alone with the finding of the SL8 to be an extremely accurate rifle. Mine has a great trigger from the factory.

I'm looking forward to putting on the AR style butt stock, and pistol grip combo.

Gotta say though, the factory 3X sight bites.

This is what I want.

10rd mags. Non-restricted. Wicked.:ar15:
It would freak out the Libs for sure. :runaway:
I'd have to take it hunting.

I was thinking the samething, but the housing does not have the same shape where the stock fits, any tube type stock is ok but anything requiring the flat surface and the indent on the AR receiver is not going to fit.

Hey dangertree, is there any way you can check to see if the Magpul UBR will fit on the Hera-arms kit? I'm not worried if it's not a perfect match, as long as it's close. If I have to shave a tiny bit off the UBR to make it match up will be alright.

Won't fit, it need the indent on the AR receiver to secure it, only tube type stocks look like will fit. That nut on the housing would need to extend lower and have an indent.

CTR is a tube design, and is in their photo gallery. I was thinking the PRS myself, from the looks of it, the PRS is like an A2 stock, since the area at the receiver is larger than the tube, IMHO it will not fit. But let's see what DangerTree gets for info. I am only speculating based on pictures and my experience with building AR's.

This is the CTR:

PRS on an AR-15, see how it's flush with the receiver.

See the notch for the AR receiver on left side of pic:

Might be adaptable with a small adapter plate

Just looking again at this, I don't think anything is going to fit other than standard carbine receiver extensions. I guess anything can be made to fit, but I'm thinking a CTR anyway. Maybe an ACE Skeleton stock?
