Looking for a new revolver and down to one of the 3 above. Already load for 9mm and 38 so that isn't a factor. Mainly just for fun but might shoot IPSC revolver once in a while for a change.

if you may run it in IPSC, then go with the 929 as it's 8 shots while the 986 is only 7 shots. The TRR8 is nice, but to be competitive in IPSC, most people load 38 Short/Long Colt for faster reloads.

I own a 986 it is a really fun revolver, but dealing with moonclips are a huge pain in the butt. Gun was unusable for the first week I had it because I was given 357 moonclips that did not hold 9mm rounds. I also had to buy a tool to load and unload them to save my fingers. If you want a revolver, my vote would be the TRR8, you can shoot 38 specials and 357 mags dont NEED moonclips but can use them if you want to. Speed loaders would also be another option.

my dad picked up the TRR8 and its a hell of a nice gun.
for me personally its too light for a 357mag.
i like a little weight on my 357mags, feels more controllable, probably just me.

if you want a light one with lots of rails go with the TRR8.
if you want a normal one with some heft to it than go with the others.

I have the 627pc and the trr8, as well as other 357's as I like the caliber. I do like the 8 shot capacity. The trr8 is very nice and at least equal to my 627pc. Can't be bothered with a 9mm revolver, semi yes.

Revolvers are addictive.
The 929 is very accurate and cheap for plinking. When it comes to Revolvers I prefer them in .4 cals.....get a 629.

Good choice. They take a bit of work to get a nice smooth trigger pull, but definitely worth the effort :)

I've got an R8 which is quite similar to the TRR8. Got it for my wife for light weight. At least that's what I tell everybody! If I was getting a new revolver in 38/357 I'd strongly consider a 627 V-Comp.

I've got a 929. Its a very soft shooter, great for introducing newbies. Moon clips are fun, but ammo consumption goes waàay up! I think its got the best trigger outta the bunch...
