Still waiting for my RPAL and I've now bought 2 guns (yes you can buy a gun without an RPAL you just can't get it shipped). I got tired of trying to find a Mil-Spec in SS and then I came across a Loaded model and jumped on it. The dealer sent me a couple of pictures. Range report in about a month:mad:

Nice gun! Love the look of stainless 1911

I also have a Brazilian made 1911 but mine is a Taurus :)

Just curious how much did it set you back?

All three of my Springers have been flawless. I hope you have as much luck with yours as I have had with mine. I look forward to a range report. Regards, Richard:)

Thanks. The anticipation is killing me. Hurry up CFC:runaway: Paid full retail, I was just happy to find a Springer SS. $1173 total with tax & shipping.
About $200 more than the Mil-Spec but there are a few extras that are worth it. Not too crazy about the ambi-safety so I might have that changed.

pdubois64, I am Scots/Irish and it shows in the prices I have paid for my Springers. I have $525 in my Loaded and about $500 in both of my other Springers. I wish my cousins in Canada could pay the same prices their American cousin does. Regards, Richard:)

Just like everything in Canada but what can you do. If you wanna play you gotta pay...don't even get me started on cars prices:mad: At least with that I do have the option to buy in the U.S. But actually I frequent a U.S. 1911 Forum and the prices in Canada aren't that far off. I am sure there are alot more bargains in the U.S. due to that fact that there are alot more retailers. I don't mind the price I paid so much because I was just happy to finally find one in Canada

Update

Well it's been almost 2 months since I bought it and it showed up in the mail today.
I stripped/cleaned/lubed it and hope to hit the range tonight or tomorrow night. When I reassembled I didn't have any problems with getting the slide stop back in like so many other people seem to have problems with. I even put tape on the slide to avoid the "idiot scratch". I used a very small jewellers screwdriver to hold in the plunger and slowly pushed it through....makes me wonder if I did it right as it seemed too easy after hearing so many horror stories. Everything seems to operate correctly. I am very sure I got the slide stop through the barrel link but would I be able to tell if I didn't? I would think so.

I have 100 rounds for my first range trip.

Range Report

Finally got my new pistol to the range today as a guest of the Airdrie Range courtesy of fellow gun nutter Jim (Proonur).

Put about 110 rounds of three different kinds of ammo through the pistol. No problems whatsoever other than one time the slide did not lock open when the magazine was empty. The pistol seems to be very accurate, more accurate than the shooter anyway.

Very pleased overall.

That is one beautiful 1911 Paul, and by the end of the day you had it shooting where you wanted it to, don't be so modest!
Thanks for letting me and the wife use your Ruger as well, now thanks to you it looks like I'll be able to buy another handgun. :D
For those of you that do reload the .45 ACP, what is it costing you? I would like to stick to ball type bullets as they are a lot cleaner than shooting the lead only bullets (I'm lazy and hate cleaning), but the 230 gr. Remington bullets I looked at on Friday were $19 for 100, which seems pretty steep to me.

I used to buy my 230Gr CMJ West Coasts for 45/500. Marstar has Frontier 230Gr CMJ for 129/1000 which is not that bad, but this time a year ago they were 70/1000.

Yes I think your wife will be looking for one of those under the tree this Christmas...but she probably can't wait that long:eek:
