'New' Springfield Armory 1911 DS PRODIGY HANDGUN 9mm

I will pay Staccato price for a Staccato if they are available, hell I will pay any of their prices if any of the quality DS 1911s were available.

Take TRP for example, I have very little faith in springfield production discard what their price tag say it would be.

I have little faith in most 1911s. I've had more than a dozen over the years and the only 2 manufacturers which never had hiccups were Dan Wesson and STI.

The Staccato is easily worth the extra 30-40% in price. Its not worth cheaping out on this platform, unless you're not overly concerned about reliability.

Same here, my only kepted 1911 are from Dan Wesson and Nighthawk. STI is my open gun.

Prodigy is on par with TRP in pricing, one can only hope they are decent.

lol check your math.... MSRP for a Staccato P is only $600 more than the Springfield.

If you do a proper comparison, optic ready to optic ready. There is a $900 difference.

Your point still stands, 2 for the price of 1.

I'm buying the in the USA, exchange kills us up here and then the mark up, plus we don't get factory promotions, coupons, extras, etc.

Fair enough and a good point - optic ready is USD 1499 vs 2399

The problem is that people will make excuses for it not performing at a high level because its 'entry priced', but thats relative to the 2011 market. Its still a bloody US$1500 gun, triple the price of a Glock, and it looks like its not up to snuff.

This guy had a slew of issues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyDIgte1tqE

He did a series of short videos taking it apart and examining the build quality up close: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_8PoUON4LdM

Agreed, their will always be scrutineers and fan boys. I don't know enough about the 1911/2011's to make a educated opinion and don't have one(yet), but
I'm truly drawn to their design, history, and following.

In that case my advice is to sell a kidney and buy a Staccato while there are still some in the country, cuz the Springfield ain't coming :)

Piles more videos on youtube of people having issues with this gun. I'm guessing it would retail around $2100 up here, and that's just inexcusable performance. You can't tell me a manufacturer of their experience wasn't aware that they were putting together a subpar product. I'll bet $100 they cleaned up and hand tuned all the press guns they sent out.
