New Steiner T5Xi scopes

Same glass as the M5Xi scopes, weight under 30oz, reticle with 0.03mil thick lines at the center and priced lower than comparable Bushnell and Vortex offerings... gonna sell like hotcakes!

I would get one in a heartbeat for my AI AT, sure hope they become available up here. Quite a bit of info on it on snipershide. I like my NXS 5.5 -22 but in SPF I am having a hard time holding on to it. Anyone know of any Steiner dealers in Canada. Not much info on Steiner's site.

I would just get Prophet River to import it when they become available. Will likely work out way cheaper than what any dealer up here will offer them at.

You could also fill out the paperwork and order through eurooptics. I had the import paper done for a bushnell XRS and was going to send it to them but a Canadian dealer finally brought one in with the reticle I wanted so I didn't bother with the whole thing.

Going by the prices of the big Bushnells, I doubt it will $2500 unless our dollar takes a serious tumble. At least not at the reasonably priced vendors. Local gun shops maybe... if they even stock something that high end.

Different story with Bushnell and Steiner. Bushnell is sold to (practically) every retailer in Canada, big box store or small mom and pop outlet. Massive quantities available and surplus amounts are typically the case. Steiner (odds are) will only be with a few retailers to begin with; even though Stoeger has a wide range of retailers that they sell to up here. Limited supply to the Canadian market and few retailers will equate to larger markups.

A more apt comparison would be the Leupold MK6 series. Not that many retailers carry them or have access to them up here, and when they do, the price is almost $1K higher versus US retailers. Hence the $1000+ markup (possibly) on the Steiner optics is a real possibility -- sad but true.

This is also not counting the Canadian dollar going down, which is almost a given provided the banks up here were not just prompting fears (as they said the dollar will probably be in the 80 cent range by the end of the year -- and possibly in the 70 cent range sometime in 2015).

Fingers crossed it will be cheaper.. but I'm dubious as us Canadians pay higher for (practically) everything versus our US counterparts, and anything firearm-related is almost certain to cost more. If they are not too bad priced, I'll pick one up here. If not, export!

Edit: on the MK6, I'm looking at the 3-18x's.

They still haven't hit the sheleves yet in the states. I'm very interested to know who can/will be getting us these in Canada. I'm in for one 5-25 and another if it's all they say its gonna be.

I spoke to a rep in the US who said Stoeger Canada. I have a contact at Stoeger and will be making an inquiry to see if he can provide any info.

Any new updates on this scope being available to Canadians?

I have been in the US for the past month and speaking with some guys in the industry.there is still no confirmed date as to when they hit the shelves. Its still all speculation until they actually do. There appears to be a big demand down here if they live up to the hype for the price they will go quick. Guaranteed though they will cost more north of the border and when one becomes available is anyone's guess. I wouldn't expect it for quite some time.

You can thank Korth for the premium you pay for Leupold optics, the markup on other optics (Nightforce, Vortex, Trijicon) aren't nearly as bad. Hopefully the Steiners up here are closer to the U.S. prices.
