The photos were taken with a Cannon Powershot SD200 digital camera on zoom, then cropped and reduced in size by half.
 
Steyr

I'm in the market for a 40 cal Steyr, have a M9 now. Who's the dealer for them now? I bought M9 at wolverine's but they don't advertise the Steyr.:

Dear Steyr-M owners:
1. Is there exist some way to reduce the trigger weight on Steyr (like replacement of bar brings Glock's pull down to 3.5 lb)?
2. How accurate Steyr is? What is the best result you have shooting at 25 yards?

1) I think for now all you can do is polish the part. But the factory trigger is pretty good for a DAO gun, most people agree that Steyr has a better stock trigger than Glock; it's a about 5.5lbs with very short reset (4mm pull).

2) The gun can be very accurate, but (trapezoid /triangular) sights may take some getting used to (you can replace them with regular 3 dot). With a shoulder stock one hole groups are not impossible.

Anyone add a grip plug to their pistol?

You can get them from Steyrclub.com but I've been unable to recieve a response from them via the advertised email.

they're only meant to be used with older M models, M-A1 models don't need them (they look fine with out it- it was just for looks), and the plug probably wouldn't even work with newer models.

I bought a Steyr M9-A1 on Oct 31/06 and it had a problem with the plastic piece that holds the mag spring in place when i went to pick it up. The store i went to said they would fix it. They sent it off to a gunsmith who said he fixed it and told me to pick it up, so i drive an hour to pick it up and it wasn't even fixed... :mad: Now its Jan 23 and i still don't have my firearm, I'm about to ask for my money back and go pick up a new one form another store. This is getting sad!

I don't have the schematics here but i think its part number 4. It was turned side ways when i got it which caused the mag not to drop and was hard to insert the mag. The piece was removed and got lost and a month later they yanked one out of a display model and lost that one too :eek: So now i'm sitting here waiting months for a $2.00 piece :runaway:

I asked Steyr about shoulder stocks and was told that aftermarket stocks are available although they do not make them themselves. Unfortunately they did not say who does make them. Marstar's BUL Cherokee stock does not fit the Steyr and is not all that worthwhile on the Cherokee. (Maybe in more experienced hands....)

Last summer, before I had my PAL, I saw a Mauser fitted with a gorgeous newly-manufactured wooden stock. (I think it was at Kelly's, north of Napanee.) Kelly(?) said it was made in China. I have been unable to find any information on such stocks on the internet. Pity.
 
don't really know anything about Mauser stocks...

but the only Steyr Stock I'm aware of is made by Austria IGB (and it's $125USD) but they only work with older M models (not M-A1)...
