Here's a new Sopmod style stock from Rock River Arms. Their webstore lists it at $130 U.S. including commercial tube, buffer/spring, and locking nut/endplate. Maybe one of our resident dealers could bring a few of these in.......pretty please :)

This is true, but we just ordered some of these stocks from RRA and they shipped them. I expected them to say no go for the very reason you stated.
I guess it is true that " it never hurts to ask".
In retospect i wish I had ordered more at the time.
 
I like this more than I like the LMT SOPMOD, which I don't like, but I'm still not sure I like it (I'd have to try one). I'll stick with my CTRs. They function flawlessly, are comfortable, and also look great.
 
I must be a bit of a retard, I still have some 2 position aluminum stocks on some of my Ar's.
Still seem to hit the target though. :D

There was a time when I agreed with you but I started shooting in the winter with heavy clothing and started using a more squared stance. I now find that adjustability (is that a word?) is really useful.

Then there are those who like their stock to just be one solid length and thats cool too :D.

I have other stocks such as LMT, M4, pre-A1, A1 and A2. but I still end up shooting the collapsible stocks in the nearly closed position especially when it is cold and we are wearing a few inches of clothing.
I am not short but I like the length of AK stocks too so maybe that is why.
