New stock needed for Remington 721 in 30.06

Father gave me his long time 721 in 30.06 and it needs a new stock. What is the easiest way? Can I use a 700ADL or BDL stock.
(And could I do the same for a 722 in .257 Roberts which he cut down for me when I was 15, too short now.)

700 won't work, but Boyd's makes stocks for both the 721 and 722.

A 700 stock could be adapted. Some inletting would be necessary. A 700ADL would be easiest, because of the trigger guard.

River Rat on here restocked a 721 with an ADL stock, and it worked fine. He bedded it, and the thing shoots very well indeed.

I have restocked at least 3 721's with M700 Stocks. Not much work required at all.

I have a long action 721 stock that is in good condition, especially for being in it's original finish. It was bedded with acra glass and would work fine as is or you can grind it out and re-bed it if you want. I'll sell it to you. PM if interested.
