New stock on a classic target rifle

Just got my Winchester 52 back from being re-stocked. It’s a beautiful walnut laminate with brass butt plate and a brass bag rider. Not only does it look good, it’s a shooter as well.

The stock was hand built and laminated by Ron McD from Winnipeg. He built the front rest in the picture as well.

Interesting. The more expensive the stock is, the more its laminated and reduced in the actual contour work. Is the trigger guard taken from some box tubing?

It was one of the first ones he made in that style. Bought it a few years ago.

I bought his S&L M77 conversion into a BR-50 platform almost 20 years ago. Never did perform as well as I'd hoped. Wound up buying a S&L M61; rebarrelled it & it shoots better than I can.
