New stock/pistol grip problems on DA Grizzy (Am I nuts?)

Hi,

I feel dumb.

I finally received my DA Grizzly 8.5" and wanted to put either a Knoxx Recoil Reducing stock or pistol grip (the one sold by CanAmmo) on her but I've encountered some problems.

I successfully removed the oem stock.

I then tried to install the Knoxx stock (for Rem 870) but could not tighten the bolt enough to enable any kind of 'fit' to the gun. The Knoxx bolt threads fine, then stops and for fear of over tightening I didn't want to over torque the bolt there was at least 5mm space and a wiggle between the stock and the gun. Not good.

I then tried to install the pistol grip from CanAmmo (also for a Rem 870) and the bolt that comes with the pistol grip is too small for the thread in the gun.

Am I nuts? Looking at Rem 870's on Youtube, it appears that the receiving thread is protruding from the gun where as seen in my attached picture, the DA Grizzly has no thread protrusion.

What the hell am I doing wrong? This should be so simple yet I am baffled.

the adapter must still be screwed into your bolt that is supposed to attach the stock to the rifle, Also once you get that adapter nut off and it still won't go in you need to run a tap through your adapter bolt on the receiver, all it does is remove some of the coating in the threads and it should go on smooth after that.
 
Sitting here at work, and trying to fathom what is going on.,..I was thinking I pulled out something and its still attched to the Knoxx bolt. Not having examined the Knoxx bolt ahead of time, I was unfamiliar with it 'out of the box' and nothing dropped on the floor so I think you may be right. Thanks.

My Knoxx bolt was quite 'snug' on my DA Grizzly, too. I just tightened it really hard and it threaded on. I didn't strip it either, as I've interchanged it with other Norincos and 870's over the years, too.

Thats because the chinese thread adaptor is a 6MM metric thread and all the Remington stuff is 1/4 inch.
