New stuff from Beretta

An extended Tula choke. One one hand it's an odd idea but on the other you wonder why someone didn't think of it before.

The 391 is the standard that all other target gas guns hope to meet. Now if they only made one in 28 gauge.

I agree with shaptail and think that it maybe has something to do with some shooting clubs being gobbled up by urban sprawl and ending up in the city limits. Anti gun neighbours then complain about the noise etc. I wonder if it is an experiment by beretta or something someone built. I also wonder if it was an "unsingle" with the "muffler" on top supressing the bang??? Seems like that would work?

:p The suppressed gun was built by the guy shooting it. It is based on the 682. It is in Connecticut this month at Fairfield, during the CT State Sporting CH. The use of the suppressed gun in France, is for noise in urban areas. As well, some countries in Europe now have inddor shotgun ranges that include Compak and regular Parcours de Chasse. Thos indoor shooting arenas can be quite noisy.

The "Tula" choke is a spreader affair invented by the Russians.
Best regards,
Henry;)

Suppressed shotguns are not unusual in the U.K. I played with a single-shot, suppressed .410 in Northern England some years ago. I loved it. Very discreet. The shot sounded more like a door slamming than gun fire. Needless to say I wanted to take it home with me.:(

BTW, Henry I'm a recent subscriber to ClayShooting USA. Exellent magazine and I've enjoyed your contributions particularly when I know some of the people you've written about.

The only danger is Bruce Buck. His reviews make me spend money.;)

Any more info on the specific differences between the Urika 1 and 2? At a glance, the piston is obviously different. The rest of her still looks like my little lady though. Are the barrels the same?

ClayshootingUSA is the PREMIER clay shooting journal in NA and its parent Clay Shooting is the clay magazine in Europe. I am very fortunate to write for them. You can see some of the Euro stuff at http://www.clay-shooting.com/mainpage_.htm
I am very happy to hear that you enjoy ClayshootingUSA. BB and I have communicated and enjoyed each others company for many years. Unfortunately, he has now retired to the cottonhead state of Florida. So now, we spend time emailing each other. He has also taken up golf! Our writings are much tamer now compared to our writings in The Clay Pigeon. We would write very truthfully about everything and it would sometimes backfire at the magazine or at certain shootng clubs. So we have toned down and become more polite!

I have two shoot revues on Oshawa in the September/October issue, as well as some of my pictures for the World FITASC revue. My Canadian Shooting Review comes back for the end of year Nov/Dec issue.

Best rgards,
Henry;)
