New style flash hider on Swiss Arms CQB 552?

ManitobaMick, I was wondering why on such a high end rifle like this they did what they did here behind the flash hider? There are 3 to 4 full threads exposed behind the flash hider. These are unprotected and on a military rifle makes no sense.I know it does not degrade the operation of the weapon in any way but there is potential through rough handling to damage these threads that may later be needed for a supressor (non Rotex) or such? Thoughts?
 
If you look at these pics there is a part that goes on, sort of like a locking nut but to cover the threads because they are longer than the depth of the FH.

If it was just my rifle like this, I would agree. But all the rifles shipped in the last batch with the "new" flash hider had the threads showing. I believe, the jam nut is an add on that someone did to compensate. Reason I believe this is the finish and color are different than the barrel/flash hider?

I got an email back from Swiss Arms and they tell me to contact Shooting Edge?
 
Colors look different in pictures/with use/different batches/camera flash/oil. Nothing is made one rifle at a time and they do not worry about color matching.

Contact whoever you bought it from and ask them to check into it.

One thing I would rather know is since you have the latest version and I have the first. Is the guide rod/spring now captured? On the first ones you have to remember to hold the guide rod assembly when you split the upper and lower or it goes flying.

If it was easy enough to get a LH14x1mm thread nut at the hardware store... ;)

You could probably get one made by a machinist.

Yes, do the new CQBs have the 553 gas piston system?
