Hey Gang...

For your consideration, this is a project that I have been working on for a little while.

Years ago, I picked up a WELL worn Remington Model 11 (the brother shotgun to the Brownign A5). I found out that they were used during WWII as plane tracking aids (for gunners) and by the US Navy as close quarters battle guns. So I promptly chopped the barrel, and began blasting skeets with it.

I was very pleased at how well, and FAST the gun cycles. I ended up getting several A5's after that just to play with.

Anyhoo, I just finished this one. It is "old school style meets new world tactical". Here's what I did...

-shortened barrel to 20"
-attached a Trijicon ramp front sight
-bead blasted the receiver and barrel to get a flat finish
-re-blued the gun using Oxpho-Blue (...what a great product!)
-added 2 round mag-tub extension and spring (capacity is 7+1...but pinned to 5 to avoid the outrage :rolleyes:)
-attached picatinny scope rail
-added holographic sight

Have a look and PLEASE let me know what you think! Further, if anyone wants one of their own, I am thinking about building a few more with Browning A5's as bases. They could be custom ordered with various barrel lengths, stock choices (re-finished wood or black/camo composite), sight options, etc.

Oh come on, now you're just splitting hairs. You know the law, and you know what he means. ;) If that shotty is a canuck shotty, then the tube mag should be limited to 5.

And yes, we all know that mag capacity is determined by what said mag is intended and designed for. So in this case, tube mag for semi-auto shotgun = 5

Oh, and of course the garand was lucky enough to get an exception

Semi-auto Enfield???

I thought all Enfields were bolt guns. Also thought that you can put however high a capacity mag on a bolt gun as you want.

But back to the shotty... It needs more black, less wood.

True, but while there are readily available black stocks for Browning A5's, Rem Model 11's have a different grip. The forestock will fit, but the butstock will not. And I will NOT paint wood black, as I have seen done.

And yet he has still not taken down the public advertisement that his gun is a prohib as long as he leaves that illegal mag extension on the semi.

Browning Auto 5 shotguns were used by the SAS during the insurgency in Malaya also. They had cut down barrels and stocks.

As set out in Criminal Code Regulations, some large-capacity magazines are prohibited regardless of the class of firearm to which the magazines are attached. As a general rule, the maximum magazine capacity is:

5 cartridges for most magazines designed for a semi-automatic centre-fire long gun; or
10 cartridges for most handgun magazines

A large-capacity magazine is not prohibited if it has been permanently altered so that it cannot hold more than the number of cartridges allowed by law. Acceptable ways to alter a magazine are set out in the regulations.

There is no limit to the magazine capacity for semi-automatic rim-fire long guns, or for other long guns that are not semi-automatics.

If you are in Canada your shotgun is prohibited. You might want to edit your first post and perhaps remove your mag extension. Especially if you've got 10 or more in the safe.
