that is the rail version....I have one in stainless without a rail (one in my signature pic)

I think the rail looks fine, does not bother me one bit. I like STI but those magwells,useful or not, look awful.

Yup, I'm not a fan of the rails on 1911's.... Interesting how the US military got through two World Wars, Korea & Vietnam using the 1911 with no rail... :p

But this reply is about the mag well on the STI.... kinda reminds me of the new cordless drills with the big detachable battery on the bottom...lol... :D
