just curious how this prevents tavor eye. i have shed several tears whilst firing it. i thought the gas was coming from the right side ejection port and up to my right eye. thank you.

Nah. It comes up in the gaps between the receiver and the plasic ejection port cover. It then goes between your safety galsses and cheek, hitting your eye.

I think it could be both!

But the guys with suppressors see a ton of #### coming out of their dust cover. Not so with the Flex on there.
