Apologies for the iPhone snaps. I've heard rumours for years that Fab was working on a Tavor rest. Looks like it's finally coming this way.

Looks pretty wild:

Is this designed primarily for bench shooting? Unless this part can also clamp onto the foregrip somehow, I can't see this being practical in real-world scenarios (ie. balancing/shooting through holes in concrete or windows). I'm also not too sure about the height this will add if shooting from prone (looks like it will add far too much height).. but I could be wrong!

At first glance, an ingenious solution for a problem that does not exist. My Tavor shoots very well from the prone position and has not yet been fired from the bench.

I like the Idea as someone who frequently field shoots in prone. Whenever prone I end up bunching my fist up beneath that area of handgaurd anyways and my fist is never quite enough when using a 30rd pmag.

What I dislike about this is how it will hamper the "Israeli hold" style and it will also block the grip which should be used for a bolt spare parts kit.

Not sure if this design is aluminum or injection molded plastic, but I definitely hope its aluminum where it counts.

They need to do something to make that empty space inside the Tavor grip more accessible and user friendly.

It's really not designed as a storage space. That's just a happy coincidence for western markets. The IDF never really bought into the "Mogadishu butt plug" that saw every hollow space on a rifle become a secret squirrel stash for batteries/bullets/lube etc

When I sandbag my Tavor, I actually prress the bottom/front of the guard up against the bag, that what feels natural with the bullpup balance.

The magazine extends down further than the handguard, so it's hovering at about that bipod's height anyway.

This is my concern also

What's wrong with a regular bipod? Is the idea here that the weight's more balanced when shooting prone? the IWI STAR uses a basic bipod...I'm fairly certain if it was much of a problem IWI would have designed a different type of bipod for the Tavor.

best to keep it simple in my opinion. Instead of having a gun that will eventually look like this:

(although I know some dig this look ;))
