New Tikka T3x Lite vs. Superlite

thanks '76.

Yeah, I've never had a brake before. I guess I just got caught up seeing threaded barrels when I started shopping around and looking online, hoping one day we'd get legal suppressed hunting in this country, thinking I might as well get everything on this rifle because I'll be hunting with it for the next 15 or 20 years...

But lots to be said for keep it simple and save some bucks though... it's gonna do the job all the same. Heck, maybe get 2 rifles for not much more than 1 special edition novel l model or whatever those are...

I've got a 2.5-10 Vortex I'll move onto the 6.5... If I get a 7mm too maybe I'll look at something like your Leupold... maybe a 4-16.

I really appreciate everyone making comments... lots of great perspectives here.

Thanks for that.

I've had several plastic stock guns... rifles, shotguns, nothing pretty but they worked... these Tikkas that I've handled feel more solid than what I have. I guess it's perspective and what you're used to.

What do you guys think of the "Veil Alpine" pattern/colouration for BC hunting... seemed too bright for me, but it's kinda growing on me... and it's on sale 10% off... LOL...

I LIKE it ! RJ

I like Tikka. Plain old stainless T3X. Stock is much nicer than the T3. I feel that Tikka charges and arm, a leg, and at least one genital for their “upgraded” options. Fluting, bolt knobs, muzzle brakes and cerakoting. All not necessary on an already great hunting platform. Keep your extra loot in your wallet.

No spent it on better OPTICS ! jmo RJ

If hunting on the island, you probably don't need a 24" barrel for added velocity. Getting a 20" barrel will be a great way to cut down on weight while making the rifle handle better.

I actually handled one of those veil alpine tikkas .they seem to be a lot beefier than the regular tikkas. nice rifle.
