new tikka t3x/t3 recoil pad

Has anyone an experience with the new Tikka T3X/T3 recoil pad? I purchased one to retro fit on the old T3 synthetic black stock, and it doesn't come close to fitting. The inside "flange" does match up to the old contour. The part # is S54065174 and is labelled for both the new T3X and the older T3 stock.
