Hi there, I currently own 9mm pistols, AR15 (.556) and a VZ58 (7.62). I'm interested in getting something in the .22 rimfire calibre.. I just don't know where to start.

I want to get a rifle to just do some plinking. I prefer mag fed and not bolt action. I bet there are dozens if not hundreds of choices. I guess I'm more into tactical platforms and came across the ISSC MK22. Anyone have good/bad experience with these? Are there other platforms that I should look at? I'm just looking for some direction or suggestions based on members' experiences.

Lastly, are all .22 non-restricted?

Thanks in advance.

I have an ISSC MK22 as my only tactical .22

Had it for 2 years an love it! Extra mags are pricey but what isn't in this hobby?

Starting in 2013/2014 ISSC fixed all the issues that were common in the first few batches of rifles (new platform by a new company remember,) So don't believe all the older reviews on them.

I have a Specter CST 297 sling on order that should be perfect. (Probably should check into that order lol)

I have a marlin 795 and love it. It mag fed and the bolt locks to the rear but it is not every tactical mostly cause of the mag release and stock options. It shoots great though. Highly recommend to everyone cause of price and how great of a rifle it is. But you want the tactical one so the 795 will be lame to you because there is next to nothing for aftermarket stuff.

I'll second the Marlin 795..the only fault is the trigger ,I picked up a Mcarbo spring kit but haven't installed it yet
