If there happens to be left overs we'd do dealer sales eventually. No ETA however as we are focused on coordinating our retail orders for the time being

Goodness people, we said exactly what the situation was at post 713.

So much hatred... Is our reputation really that poor? Order or don't order, you can cancel any time with no penalty. Those "waiting till they land" might be waiting till 2017, there aren't any other shipments planed for 2016.

Let try and get this thread back on topic and away from tinfoil hat conspiracies. Anybody want to see a recoil comparison video between an SKS, 858 and Type 81?

We got out and did a quick video yesterday, will be up tomorrow (forgot the camera in the truck that went in for servicing today)

First impressions:
Felt recoil is not that different between the rifles, maybe slightly less on the Type 81, but nothing significant. We were wearing thick sweaters though, maybe you'd feel more of a difference when wearing a t-shirt

The Type 81 is slightly front heavy when aiming compared to 858, but less so then an AK-47

Fixed stock is much more ergonomic then CZ 858, and allows for better cheekweld. I find the 858 stock hits my cheekbone when using it sometimes. YMMV.

Iron sights are a bit larger and smaller sight radius than 858 or SKS, so more difficult to do long range work with iron sights.

No stoppages/failures.

Triggers are all about the same, no significant differences felt.

The most significant and unexpected difference is the controllability. When you fire the Type 81 the front sight literally doesn't move. With the other rifles you have to take a couple seconds to get re-align sights and place your next shot, on the Type 81 everything is very sharp and immediately back on target. This was hugely unexpected and is a quite noticeable difference between the rifles. Right now a lot of people like this rifle for it's AK-style looks, but once it gets out there and people start shooting them I think it'll get a following for being just a great shooter

The internal features and take down procedures would be the same for both the lab submitted sample, and the ones coming to market. Other than finish, and barrel length, the guns are identical.

Yup

Here are something cool and never seen before T81 Canadian version variant exclusive photo, I am not sure when will these be available. As for T81, these are not planned for production yet. EMEI are waiting to produce the T81 Canadian version together with Chinese military version batch. So later this year.

Yeah no. Poly doesn't even have the quadrail from the supplier yet, we just spoke with them today. They also will only be available separately, not pre-installed on guns.

This is the sneak peak of the T81 folding stock for Canadian market. I am really really looking forward to this one compare to the fixed stock.

Notice the barrel and matt black finishing. The traditional Chinese version have different finishing.

Tactical Import: If you are not Ok with these photo let me know. I will delete them.

As mentioned before, finish will be blued as per military original. Barrel will be ribbed like the military original. Will look exactly as what is on our website except for 0.75" extra bbl. There will no surprises or anything different from what we've said all along.

We only received one sample, and it was a fixed stock.

That's my problem with paying in full. If they take your money and invest it in a reasonable safe place they will get at least a 5% return.
Stretch this out as long as long as they can and the longer they take the more money they make.
This means their motivation is to delay the rifles not deliver them.
Good luck to those thinking they will see them this year.

Pretty sure we'd loose more then 5% business doing that. Also, makes no sense to hold up inventory turn-around for a crappy investment. We do business by buying and selling. When that process is slowed it's bad for business.

Sorry guys we don't have any more info to give you. When we have new info we'll be be sure to post it here.

We are currently awaiting the 30 round mags and properly finished wood from the factory, then we'll do some better videos and send out for media reviews etc.

Thread was closed and posts deleted by CGN due to off-topic posts hinting at racism and politics regarding immigration etc. We hadn't been keeping as close of an eye on this thread as we should have.

Thread has been re-opened, but moving forward all posts in this thread must be Type 81 related. We have zero tolerance policy towards racism.

Aside from the racism, one of the last hot topics was about the AK mags...I'm not trying to stir any pots here but I was wondering if you guys had a chance to test any other mags in the sample rifle.

Nope. If anyone thinks another one will work we'd be willing to try. They can send to the PO box with a note and we'll give it a go. Don't think it'll work though.

Spare mags are only $29, designed to work in the Type 81, and have bolt hold open. Don't see much benefit from AK-47 mags to be honest.

Just curious is all, there's been a lot of hearsay about the mags, I just recalled you guys mentioning you might try other types/brands. I ordered extra mags with my pre-order, thanks TI.

out of curiosity TI, how does the fixed stock attach to the receiver? is it bolted from inside the receiver like an akm, or is there a long bolt running through the buttstock into the receiver like a cz or most shotguns?

Just a few questions TI,

1. The finish looks much better on the fixed version than the folding one in those pictures...is that just the picture or is there really a discrepancy between aesthetics with the two offerings?
2. I emailed you guys and I was told that the stock is not removable like an AK or VZ, meaning we are stuck with them for life essentially. How about the side panels of the folding stock? Are they removable? Perhaps Zahal or something will develop tacticool side panels for the folding stock version if that is the case.
3. Is the pistol grip removable?
4. I've seen postings and vids saying the trigger is nice and crisp, but a post on this forum saying it is the same as a vz 58 or sks? Which is it? (Please say the trigger is better than that of an SKS or striker fired VZ)
5. Those ribs on the barrel are for a rifle grenades eh? Does this mean we can buy a dummy rifle grenade and some blank 7.62 X 39s for some lols in the woods?
6. How rigid is the folding stock? It isn't wobbly is it? (not sure if u'd know yet but why not ask)

I've always loved the AK platform and have always resented that my American family can own them and I can't. I absolutely despise the AR 15 and similar Nato offerings. Commie style all the way. If you can answer these I'll place an order. I acknowledge this will be the closest thing to a AK I'll ever own *sad face. Who knows, maybe in time the T81 will be a proven Canadian gem that will make our southern neighbours jealous of us, for once *fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Shawn

2. The wood stock should be removable if it follows the AK pattern. The folding stock wouldn't be since the stock is connected to the rear trunnion. That's what is riveted in. The side panels do come off. I'm sure the 3D printer guys can make something, but what? The stock won't stay folded if you change the width.
3. Unless they changed something these will come off with a flat tip screwdriver. It screws into a small wedge inside the receiver.
6. It's one of the best folders our there. That much I am certain. There are stronger ones, but those become a b##ch to fold and unfold. This one balances it out.
