For anyone that is on facebook. I asked Larry Vickers tonight, on Larry vickers facebook live. His thoughts on the cz 805 and Type 81. And he gave just a little info of his thoughts on them. He will be doing a video on the type 81. He is just not sure when.

Everytime I see this ad bumped I get excited... And I dont even have one on preorder... just want to see people getting theres and pictures and videos

What were his thoughts on the T81?

I think he said its "cool" because it is "rare and unique" but "bizarre" and odd "rear sight picture" and not what he would "grab".

A more interesting question to get his opinion on would be, if he is faced with the same restrictions we have regarding non-restricted rifle choices in Canada, which available option would be his favorite choice? And how would the Type 81 stack up against those choices?

Because here, firing an "AK variant" is criminal and ARs are range only toys.

Maybe the answer would be "Valmet" converted to AK furnitures or "move to the US".

Yes - up in the the great white north I would definately rock a VZ 58 instead of an AK based on the 'evil' status of the latter

Be safe

I am quite interested to see how many people are planing to run surplus ammo with corrosive primers in their type 81 and their cleaning routine for a chrome barrel.

Probably the same cleaning process as an SKS with a chrome lined barrel... but maybe a little bit more tedious cleaning, since the 81's have been so long-awaited! Wouldn't want to rust up your "new" Type 81 :p

I plan on running nothing but surplus unless god forbid it dries up at which point I'll shoot the next cheapest ammo possible. I assume cleaning wont be terrible anyways. I guess time will tell

lucky i just heard my modern varmiter will be ready late this week or early next week. it was a race to see which one would be ready first

Any gun in 7.62x39 that I own (or have owned) gets surplus run through it as paying a dollar a round for new mfg 7.62 is dumb. I always autisticallty clean my guns after every outing anyways.
