yup they tried the same thing with me, but theyre supposed to charge when we receive the rifles, so i email TI and they sorted it out.

How so? I too was charged last week even though the contract specifically said payments begin after the item ships. I've called tactical capital on this a few times and they seem to be dodging the questions. Not that it really matters at this point as I dropped a large down payment and plan to pay it off shortly. Just curious how TI sorted this for you.

Hi there TI:
so its september and almost half done now and you say there is no updates so are we to assume the order is not completed and we are awaiting shipping from the land of the rising sun? I would think that if we were to make any kind of Q3 deadline than they would at least be preparing to ship from the other side in the next while?? so again you say nothing to report we will half to assume there is no way in heck we will see these before the end of the month, Am I correct in this assumption

The land of the rising sun is Japan.....

This is an issue with tactical capital and has nothing to do with TI

I expected to get charged monthly as soon as financing was approved. Haven't even been looking at it. I don't care when my payments start as long as it all adds up.

I think that would be a completely fair comment "if" TI was the actual manufacturer of these, which we all know they are not. To crap on a Canadian company for delays in a Communist China factory is a tough sell in my books.

With that said, their lack of updates or info has been a little lacklustre. I'm still holding out for an announcement in the coming weeks that they are on there way. I'm trying to stay optimistic.

edit; TI did mention in an earlier post that the factory said they are on track for Q3. Fingers crossed.

I would hardly define my statements as "crapping" on anyone. I'm damn good at that, when it is time. I have stated an opinion that defines I may have to re-evaluate my purchase. Whether or not TI is a Canadian company, or from Botswana doesn't matter worth a hill of beans, to me. And I don't care to "sell you" on anything. Make your own opinions. Lacklustre? Non-existent, perhaps. To be "on track for Q3", would fairly well mean they would have to be near landed, or landed. Which if that were the case, I would suspect TI would know, and could provide a status.

For starters, it was never a "deadline" it was and remains and estimated time of delivery. Secondly, there is plenty of time left in Q3 to meet that target date.

Which is just fine. When we "estimate" our bid on a contract, it becomes binding. If we miss on something, we lose. Simple economics. We also "estimate" our delivery dates up to two years in advance. We also have to deal with imported goods, not to mention environmental factors. We deliver on our estimates. I don't think I have an unreasonable expectation that others do the same. No wonder the world is a ball of crap, people are willing to accept sub-standard performance, in all areas of commerce.

Sorry guys no further updates, nothing to report.

You can only update if you have an update to give

Did you phone them? Email them? Either they are in production, or not. Either they are shipped, or not.

If they arrive on the 30th I'm gonna have a good laugh. If they don't it's already been said its not like TI is building them in country and end of Q3 wasn't set as a hard deadline just an ETA. Worse comes to worse cancel your preorder and pick one up when they become readily available.

As mentioned in my previous post, that is an option I will evaluate at the end of Q3. If I was "crapping" on TI, or otherwise, I'd have pulled the pin already. And I wouldn't have jumped in, right at the beginning. I believe I am providing all the freedom for TI to meet their "estimate" as what can be considered reasonable. I fully intend to wait to the end of Q3, then however long from there it takes me to conclude my decision.

I'm in the same thought camp.

I thought payment was to be in full? I paid in full what the heck!!

So did I. jumped in early. Knowing full well, TI could sit on my money (and potential interest) as well as others. I don't know what their financial arrangements are with the manufacturer, but I would hope that TI can accrue the interest until payment is due to the manufacturer. That, I believe, is supporting a Canadian company. I'm good with that.

Maybe just maybe they are here and getting sorted out before shipping and processing everyone's orders :-0

Let's say you are right. What, they are just adding some suspense to the purchase? I would rate that as even more sub-standard performance than missing an estimated delivery date.

No reason for any such assumption. Target date of Q3 means estimated to be anytime in Q3 and the latest info is that Q3 is still a valid target. They are not going to provide play-by-play status reports at every stage in the process nor should they.

Not expecting that, either. When is the last, solid, clear update? We are a long way from getting a play-by-play. With Q3 nearing its twilight, I wouldn't consider it as bad business to hear TI give a status. I would rather hear that there was conversation, and the "estimated date" is pushed by 6 months, than SFA. It's a phonecall. Either they are in production, or not, or produced. Either they are shipped, or not.

To be clear, I am not crapping on TI, or hope not to be construed as such. I deal with businesses that are straight up with me. Others can feel free to serve those that are completely willing to accept (yes I'm going to say it again) sub-standard performance. I'll do my business elsewhere, should I so choose.

In what I do, I prefer to hear bad news, than good. As early as possible. That allows me maximum time to adjust my strategies to meet my end goal. That keeps me crapping and eating indoors.

And by all means, if delivery meets Q3, I also find I am happy to support and direct my business to those who I deem to have high performance standards. Which I would happily do for TI, if this all rolls to plan. Honestly, I hope it does. However, I don't have that squishy good feeling at all, about this, yet.

Please feel free to make your own opinions. I know I have exceptionally high standards I expect people to meet. At the same time, I expect even more from myself. I don't think anyone is "flaming" or "trolling" me here. In fact, the other opinions help me weigh my decision, as I am absolutely sure many of you have dealt more with TI, than I ever may. Your opinions are valuable.

And I also tend to rant and ramble on way too much. My apologies.

Seriously, to all - happy Type81, when they come.

Japan is the "land of the rising sun", not China.

Also, you say the month is "almost half done"... it's only the 8th. You remind of my dad. When I was a kid, if I had to in by midnight and came in 15 minutes late, he'd yell "it's almost 2am!!"

You are making a lot of assumptions that are both baseless and needless. (and you know what they say about "assuming" things... it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "ming".) They were estimated to be here by Q3, which is the end of this month... 3 weeks away. There is still time yet, so no need for any panic or doom and gloom.

I'm sure if the end of the month comes and goes and they still haven't arrived, TI will post an update on what's going on... if he is able. Everyone needs to relax.

You against the world...

You keep referring to "what you do" to support your criticisms of vendors here. Do you work in firearms retail? No? Then what you do means sfa.

Either you'll get it by the end of the month, as esitmated, or you won't. If you don't, I'm sure that by that point, TI will have some more information.

Again, people need to relax. All this stress is costing me money...

This is Canada, the overly bureaucratic schithole of the world. I don't expect anything to go smoothly or as planned in any step of the way bringing in firearms. They will get here when they get here.

That's about it. The whiner going on about bad service never imported a firearm. Lets not forget about customs they can sit on items for no good reason.Just because they can. they'll get here eventually.

Apparently, you do not know me. Experienced in both fields. One more than the other.

I didn't just crawl out of a cave, with my club. Issues with importing firearms - highly expected. Customs exercising their right to do whatever they damn please - highly expected. No surprises there, folks.

However, it would seem logical to me, that the beginning of the whole scenario, could be different. Such as not commenting on what you don't control. Picture the opening claim to be
something like " no expected delivery at this time as contract is in negotiation". Logical and reasonable. If what you do, for commerce, is import firearms and you project an estimated date, I would assume that your experience in the field would help you be reasonably correct. Which again is where I gain my position of being happy to hold at this time, for re-evaluation in the foreseeable future.

Do I want one? Of course. Do I need one? No. I set myself an acceptable (to me) goal and timeline, of how I would ride this train.

Call things how you all want. Conduct your affairs as you please. And I will do the same.

I asked for anyone to point out an update, in case I missed it. Not a single reasonable response to that at all.
