Silence means no good news or no news. If they had a timeline they'd say so. Why keep a timeline quiet?
The way to motivate the factory to start production ASAP is to increase the ordered quantity. The way to increase the quantity ordered is for TI to lower the selling price. One important reason for T81 to have been widely deployed by 2.2 million-people Chinese army is that it is easy and cheap to produce. It's hard for me to believe T81's current total cost, including international shipping and import tariff, would be over $500 CAD.
I still remember I paid TI $999 for a Yogu M84 whose price was lowed to $699 soon after other dealers sold VZ61 at $699.

Increase the ordered quantity will not change the schedule of factory's production, as I said before, the true is not exactly like TI said that Chinese arsenal changed plan for gov's contract first. I doubt TI submitted T81 contract too late, so we have to wait the current gov export T97 contract finish then go with next production batch.

They gave one before. We then found nothing had happened in China since the announcement of the first target date and the target date arriving. Now we have a second very general target date and no updates as of yet to whether or not anything is happening in China.
See a pattern yet?
Entirely possible this second target date comes and goes and we find out nothing has changed in China. If that is the case perhaps TI is concerned people will back out, take their full payments and the deal with Polytech will collapse leaving the door open to some other importer to swoop in.
All theory of course. I have no idea one way or the other as there have been no updates. Save for another importer being confirmed in the game with samples at the lab.
If China isn't making guns, how did the other importer get them to take the time to send them a single order?
100% agreed!.....these could be totally finished, crated and being shipped over to canada as we speak......TI can drop the bomb and hit us with shipping notification any day........TI could just be keeping quiet on new info as when it is announced these have landed this thread will blow up and be rediculously overwhelming with phone calls, emails, and posts

Shouldn't the early supporters' who pre-ordered enjoy the same, if not more favorable, terms of later comers? Pre-orders are supposed to have more favorable terms and conditions (esp. lower prices), due to the nature of prepayment to or pre-finance of the seller, right? In a reasonably short period after the delivery of the pre-ordered items, if the price drops far bellow the cost of the favorable terms enjoyed (in this case, one extra mag), wouldn't be fair to compensate the early supporters. Otherwise, it would be quite discouraging for future pre-order sale. We would like to support TI's efforts to bring in fun stuffs, in return, we would like TI to give us some good and fair treats as well

Exactly! Something more than an extra mag and sling would be nice for us early supporters. They should do custom engravings on the stock!!!!!
Unfortunately, yes. In 2015, the average monthly salary for all working Chinese is ￥4200CNY. With the exchange rate of CNY5.23/CAD, it is roughly $800CAD. This average includes all income earning working forces ie. upper classes (like the multi-million dollars CEOs) , middle classes, and ordinary workers. Moderately experienced workers (such as those in state arsenals, most of which are in low cost areas) would earn about ￥5500CNY every month, that is cir ca $1000CAD/month. There are about 22 working days in a month, hence the day rate of around $45CAD. Divided by 8 working hours per day, there comes the $7/hr labor cost.
