New to Canada: UTS-15 bullpup shotgun

Just for clarification, I am assuming these have been cleared to come into Canada and will be able to be shipped out once they land?

IMHO this looks better than the KSG.... but the price jump of at least $600 more makes the KSG choice easier for me. Which is too bad cause I REALLY like this!

For some reason the word 'contraption' comes to mind.

Not exactly cheap either...

Look at how smoothly this operates...and he doesn't appear to be able to aim it?

I used to shoot matches with a guy who had a Spas 12 shotgun. It was switchable from semi to pump, had about 10 different buttons and controls on it that you had to operate. In a match, under pressure, while moving and reloading on the go, he'd start fumbling with it because it was so complicated and awkward...

Then it got prohibited on him...:(

I'll take an Ithaca or 870 any day over this one.

However, notwithstanding my opinion, there will be those that want them and I do wish the importer all success with it. And, given a chance, I'd love to play with one. :)

It looks like someone they grabbed off the street... I've always been a big fan of "contraptions" anyways, I think it's kinda neat. Seems to function better than the Keltec one so far...

I want to see an uber ninja NutnFancy review. He exposed alot of interesting issues with the Keltec.

I've always believed that practice practice, practice, and practice some more can overcome any handling obstacle, but the Keltec has just weird issues like the safety, unconventional loading, feed tube selector switch location and size (feeds one side, or the other, cannot alternate), action didn't seem smooth, etc.

This was one of the more interesting issues (I do not know if they resolved it, they should, it's a pretty big one!)

I kinda want one, I used to want the Keltec, but there are too many issues it seems (and I am sure there will be with the UTS as well) if it reviews well, I might have to check how deep my wallet goes and how hard my wife hits...

Wow..another new bullpup shotgun. What's going on, are they trying to compete with the upcoming Kel-Tec model?

Anyway, I think it looks like a bulky piece of junk. It's like the SA80 of shotguns.

It's like they all saw Truvelo's Neostead and said: "Hey, lets do one better!"

The stock of the uts looks like it was traced right off of the Neostead...

Atleast they all came less than the Neostead, under $2300.

The Spas never appealed to me, I've just explained why. I've always stuck with Remingtons and Ithacas.
That doesn't mean I wasn't entertained watching it being operated at matches.

I'm very glad I never laid out the big bucks for one at any rate as they went around long ago and collected them, with no compensation to the owners.

There is at least one CGN member that I can think of offhand that had one confiscated.

Do we already know the price of the KSG (I don't, cuz the last time I check, you could pre-order it with no knowledge of the price :().

The fact that the UTS has no mag selector and jump off to the next mag automatically is great.

As For looks, any kind of bullpop is ugly. As to which one is uglier...

For the info I have right now, I'm going for the UTS but I might wait a bit for the reviews to see if it has less issues than the KSG.

I am going to guess the hooked round indicators can be grabbed and manually depressed, which would mean just dropping rounds in with the other hand, rather than pushing against a spring. If thats the case, it shouldnt be too bad.

It looks like they can be hooked at the end of their travel, so that you wouldn't even need to hold them down.

Anyway this gun is a lot more interesting feature wise than the KSG, and has the considerable advantage of not being built by Kel-Tec.

Indeed, I missed that in the pic, another plus for the UTS :shotgun:

Im sorry but if you really think the KSG is gonna be a grand or less in Canada I think your dreaming. The Su 16 is gonna end up being double the price of the US and the sub 2000 is also far more expensive here. I seem to remember hearing that the KSG was gonna be around $800 in the US which seems to me would translate to AT LEAST $1200 up here. I have to say it will be interesting to see which one people are more satisfied with, the UTS 15 seems to have more features but I would probably be more comfortable buying the KSG being that it is US made and Kel Tec is a reputable company.
